Known throughout the world as a haven for mountain biking, Moab is home to biking trails for every level of rider. The area's trails traverse a wide variety of scenery, including sandstone spires, canyons and bluffs. One of the world's best-known bike trails, the Slickrock Trail, is only 15 minutes from downtown Moab. The 9.6-mile trail, which runs along a sandstone plateau, offers stunning vistas of the surrounding landscape. Ideal for novice riders, the nearby Bar M Loop Trail provides an introductory peak at the scenery of nearby Arches National Park. Do not worry if you forget your bike because many local outfitters provide mountain bike rental. Our staff will be happy to help you reserve a rental or book any excursion provided by local tour companies. In addition to our extraordinary customer service, the Moab Motel 6 is one of the most affordable motels in town. It makes a great base camp for your mountain biking adventures.
In addition to its numerous mountain biking options, the Moab area is a hiking and river rafting hot spot. The Colorado Riverway Recreation Area, located minutes away from Motel 6 along UT 128 and UT 279, is a popular recreation spot. The stretch of river paralleling UT 128 is an ideal spot for novice rafters who are not ready for the rigors of Cataract Canyon's larger rapids further downstream. Two popular hiking trails, Negro Bill Canyon and Fisher Towers, one of the area's most photogenic locations, also lie along UT 128. On the other side of the river further downstream, UT 279 is home to two hikes of its own, the Portal Overlook and Corona/Bowtie Arch. Four miles south of the Corona/Bowtie Arch trailhead, motorists can view Jughandle Arch and a set of petroglyphs from the road. Motel 6 lies less than five miles from the turnoffs to these two roads, making it an excellent choice among area motels for your Colorado River adventures.
Motel 6 lies only four miles from the entrance of Arches National Park, making it one of the closest motels to the Moab area's main tourist attraction. Our friendly staff, affordable rates, spacious rooms, and convenient location make us an ideal headquarters for your hiking, mountain biking and river rafting adventures. When lodging at Motel 6, you are within a mile of local eateries such as Buck's Grill House, La Hacienda, Desert Bistro, Denny's, the Broken Oar Restaurant and Eklecticafe. After dining out, return to Motel 6 to swim in our pool, relax in our hot tub, or unwind in your room while watching premium cable TV.
