Sitting among southeastern Utah's one-of-a-kind red rock landscape, Moab lies close to Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. Divided into three different sections by the Green and Colorado rivers, the most accessible section of the park to Moab is the Island in the Sky district. Towering over 1,000 feet above the surrounding terrain at an elevation of approximately 6,100 feet, the Island in the Sky provides stunning vistas of deep chasms, spires, mesas, and buttes. In many places, visibility spans up to 100 miles. In addition to its stellar views, the northern section of Canyonlands boasts short trails appropriate for all ages, including Mesa Arch, Whale Rock, and Aztec Butte, which meanders past ancestral Puebloan granaries.
