Arches National Park is the largest concentration of natural arches in the world. The park's 76,518 acres features over 2,000 sandstone arches, including Delicate Arch, perhaps the most famous natural landmark in Utah. Visitors reach the arch, once known as the "Schoolmarm's Bloomers" by local cowboys, via a moderately difficult 1.5-mile trail that begins at the Wolfe Ranch parking lot. Another popular hike in the park is the Devil's Garden Trail, which includes formations such as Dark Angel, Wall Arch, Pine Tree Arch and Landscape Arch, the park's longest span. One of the area's most conveniently located motels, Motel 6 is less than four miles from Arches National Park's entrance.
Only seven miles south of Motel 6 is the Moab Golf Club, one of Utah's most picturesque golf courses. Surrounded by red bluffs, the course's green fairways are a sharp contrast to the sandstone's hues above them. The 18-hole, par-72 course poses a challenge for every golfer and features a complete practice facility with a chipping area, a putting green and a driving range.
